Adaptogens, Personal Development, and Car Break-Ins w/ Marisol Quiroz.

Today I had the pleasure of speaking with Marisol Quiroz. I first heard about her through her involvement with RevitalU. Since then I’ve gotten to learn more about Marisol, and we ended up having a really interesting conversation. Here’s how it went:

Q+A

Me: Marisol, over the past few years you’ve been working on an exciting project called Revital U. What is Revital U and how does it work?
Marisol: Revital U is a health and wellness company where we focus on helping people become the best version of themselves. we teach how to become healthier and wealthier through our line of proprietary beyond organic and natural supplements along with the business side. I help others create a residual stream of income by teaching them how to use an app on their phone where they can send samples to any prospect in the UK and the US – the company does all the leg work of shipping the sample for us so we can focus on the important part which is building relationships with people.

Me: I love it! That sounds super interesting. I noticed you talk about adaptogens a lot. What are adaptogens and how can they help a person live a healthier and stronger life mentally and physically?
Marisol: Adaptogens work like a thermostat for our bodies. They help regulate the hormones to stabilize things. To keep us at a homeostasis state. Not too high, not too low. Adaptogenic herbs help the body adapt to stress by nudging it toward balance. To put it a different way, if caffeine is like a map from point A (sleepy) to point B (alert), adaptogens are more like a GPS system that figures out where you are and helps you get where you need to go (balanced). Anything that helps combat stress and helps out adrenal glands will always be part of a healthy regimen. Focusing on things that help keep stress to a minimum = healthier individuals.

Me: That’s fascinating. As a Brand Influencer and Social Media Trainer you’ve created a lot of insightful content. What’s the first interaction you ever remember having with money?
Marisol: The very first interaction with money was as a Kid. I was 7 yrs old. My mom gave me a bill to go to the corner store and I had to bring her change back. I grew up in Mexico where going to the corner store as a kid and being able to buy stuff is still a thing. I now send my 7 yr old daughter whenever we go visit Mexico and have her buy the eggs or milk it whatever is needed.

Me: Cool! How different would you say your mindset towards money is now? Compared to when you were growing up in Mexico.
Marisol: VERY VERY different. I have done a lot of mindset and personal development and healing trauma work on myself for the past 1.5 years. I have gone from a Scarcity mindset ( without even knowing I was living in that type of mindset) to a true abundance mentality. I have read several books on this topic. Invested 10k in a mastermind to help me heal blocks. I invested in UPW because I believe I am my biggest asset and I need to work hard on me and my beliefs and mindset in order to continue to attract abundance. Money is just a tool and faith is a type of currency.

Me: I love that! Take me to a time where you received or lost a noticeable amount of money. What was it like and what lesson did you learn from it?
Marisol: Received; my daughter’s dad gifted me a piece of land. (Super unexpectedly) I sold it and made $28k which helped me pay all credit card debt and have a down payment for a home that I applied for. Which is where I live now. Bought my first home all on my own at age 33. Lost: hmmm, I had someone break into my car and took both my car keys and my oldest daughter’s phone. That costed me over $1k. And it wasn’t so much the money, but me leaving my car door unlocked. 🤦🏻‍♀️ it was a dumb mistake. It took THAT for me to stop being careless about leaving my car doors unlocked.

Me: Wow! That’s quite a story. Okay, last question. In your opinion, what is the purpose of money?
Marisol: Your purpose is to make it to give away to bless others. To be good stewards of it because after all if God is allowing for us to have it is to put it to good use where it becomes a gift that allows you to pay it forward and bless someone else. We take NOTHING with us once this life is over so why “save it” – either invest it or make good use of it or give it away.

How do you feel about the purpose of money?
